Dahab Dahab

"Dahab" means gold in Arabic.  It also happens to be a song by Iraqi singer Walid Shami.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ecrAHgVIqU  I love gold, but I have to admit this is a recent development.  Unfortunately it is hard to find "goldtone" jewelry.  Maybe this is due to gold being more expensive than silver and also rarer.  Most people to prefer silver to gold.  However, gold is a big thing in African and Middle Eastern countries, as well as, India.  In the west, it is very popular with African Americans and rappers.  Gold just looks amazing on darker skin.

Gold is mentioned frequently in Abrahamic religious texts and it universally represents first place in sports competitions and other graded competitions like awards shows for instance.  The height of civilization is called "The Golden Age" and wedding rings were traditionally made of gold.  Ancient Egyptians even thought of gold as a representation of the Sun god Ra.Maya Diab (Lebanon)
